YES!!! Muy bien, Raquel! That sounds wonderful! I joined a book club here for a while, and it was okay, except that I was the youngest person by about 2 or 3 decades, so it really didn't work out. Also, because the rest of the group was mostly older, VERY conservative women, I didn't always feel free to voice my opinions. Sign me up!
Awesome!!!! Any suggestions for books? I have some ideas, but it will take me a day or two to put them together. In the meantime, let me know what is one your "to read" list!
Currently untouched on my nightstand are: The Corrections, Fast Food Nation, A Prayer for Owen Meany, and Emotional Intelligence, but I'm open to whatever ideas you have -- these books have been sitting there for a while, and I just haven't gotten to them. I also have about half a bookshelf full of stuff I haven't read (when I was in grad school the bookstore went out of buisness and sold everything for $1 and I went crazy buying stuff I thought I might want to read someday). Since I just started the school year, life is hectic right now, but I will have time to read on the weekends!
Have read Fast Food Nation and Owen Meany (and I recommend both of them, but not the first if you ever want to eat a Big Mac again). But I have been dying to read The Corrections! We could start in a couple of weeks, when you are settled in with your new semester and I am settled in at my new job (I don't start till this Thursday). And even then, we could take things really slow (10 pages a night even?). In the meantime, let's see if we could wrangle in some more participants...
I will *try* to join you, but I can't make any promises. If we go slow, like a chapter a week, I might be able to join. Life is hectic! Keri, I wanna see a post about your new job!
We should start soon, because my new job has definitely put my head *under* water. I'm desparate to find something else to think about at night, so a book would be good! We in agreement about The Corrections!?!
We're on! The corrections it is. We can start now, but no promised on speed here. I'm still pulling long hours at school. They promise it gets easier. :) I'm looking forward to this book club as an evening treat to myself.

When do we start reading? I'm excited!
I will blog about the new job soon -- as soon as I manage to get my head above water. They tell me it will get easier. Hope so :)
